First off, before we get talking about the Scottsdale Bridal Expo, let’s start with a bit of trivia.
What is the most popular month for a wedding in America?
A Spring or early summer wedding has long been the traditional favorite in the western world because of the symbolism of new beginnings and the abundance of flowers, and May and June remain very popular months for weddings.
Summer weddings in July and August are also popular with many people, although here in the American South they are less popular. Who wants to get dressed up in that kind of heat?
Recently, however, the Fall wedding is growing in popularity. Last year, the two most popular months for tying the knot were September and October. Autumn isn’t just for Thanksgiving and Halloween anymore… Especially in northern parts of the continental USA, the colorful leaves and cooler climate make for a spectacular backdrop to a big ceremony.
Of course, one of the nice things about living in the Southwest is that the “offseason” for weddings isn’t bad either. If you want to wait until the rush dies down and you can get some better deals, chances are that the weather will still cooperate.

Speaking of the offseason, around the middle of beginning of November in the Phoenix area, there’s an event that you probably won’t want to miss if you’re planning a wedding, you’ve just gotten engaged, or you’re trying your best to get your significant other to pop the question. We’re talking about the trendy Scottsdale Bridal Expo, put on by N.E.S. Bridal Expo!
The Scottsdale Bridal Expo
A wide range of offerings will be represented at the bridal expo this year as every year, with the most popular names from the wedding industry in the Phoenix area.
Travel Time AZ will be there this year, sharing the hottest news for people interested in a tropical wedding! The event will be held at the Scottsdale stadium from 10am to 2pm, and will be free to anyone who can preregister.
Ok, so you’ve already decided to go.
Great choice! Now, maybe you’re an old pro at bridal expos and shows, and it won’t be the least bit intimidating to confront the mountains of options and ideas that will await you.
Maybe you aren’t really under that much pressure because your wedding is still over a year away, and you just want to enjoy yourself and browse. In that case, good for you, and congratulations on being so well-organized! There’s plenty to enjoy for everyone with dancing, free samples, giveaways, and prizes to be won.
On the other hand, if you’re like a lot of people, you don’t have much time and you want to get the most out of the experience. In that case, there are some pieces of advice that could come in handy.
Remember your priorities.
First of all, you have to think about what information you’re there to get. Are you needing to line up catering services or find a hair stylist for your important day?
Bridal shows can be overwhelming, and the vendors at the event cover just about every possibility that you could think of (and most likely a few that you probably had never imagined). If you’re newly engaged, go for the things that need more time to plan.
These usually include wedding planners, the venue, or decorators. If the deadline is creeping up on you, go for the next biggest things on your to-do list. Last of all, if you’re feeling satisfied with how the preparations are going, check out some other neat ideas that you might not have considered before.
Plan ahead.
If you know what you need to arrange for the day of your wedding, have a look at the vendor list before heading to the expo. That way you’ll be able to make a point of stopping to talk to vendors who offer services you need.
Secondly, remember that many vendors are going to want your contact information. You’ll be doing everyone a favor if you print out some contact cards or labels instead of writing down the same thing at each booth. It will save you time and enable you to keep moving in the busy times of the expo.
Make it a fun event.
You can bring as many guests as you want when you preregister, and there will be enough free souvenirs for all of them.
Bring along your bridesmaids, your friends, and your family members to make it a precursor to your wedding day. Part of making your wedding special includes getting friends and family together to celebrate the start of your life with your spouse.
Wedding planning and events like the Scottsdale Bridal Expo are a chance to do just that- and you get to discuss ideas with people who have seen everything at the bridal expo, which makes it much easier to get their opinions, rather than explaining everything after the fact. Get the ladies in on the action!
Who knows, maybe one of them will catch your bouquet and need to make their own trip to the Scottsdale Bridal Expo next year!
